Worship for August 10th.
This Sunday our Worship music will be provided by the Youth Praise Band and Eric Papp, a college age member going to the University of Missouri at Rolla will be talking about “Life Choices.” Eric has made several ‘life choices’ since he left for college and will be sharing those with us. During the offertory we’ll present a video of the Youth Mission trips this summer.
Andy’s on vacation this week and Melissa is at school so there are no Pastor’s Notes this week. We had a great worship service on Sunday celebrating Communion with Andy’s reminder that we can never be mad at anyone when we’ve shared food with them and see n them with mustard on their chin or lettuce in their teeth (or both)! His sermon is on the website if you missed it.
What’s New around Campbell.
Campbell is getting a new piano! The Finance Committee, Trustees and Church Council have approved the acquisition of a new piano for the Sanctuary. Betty Salmon has written a letter that’s available on the website (here) that explains the background behind the need for a replacement and the cost for the new piano. Campbell will be having a “Piano Fundraiser” on Sunday, September 7th at 6:00 p.m. with some great local talents so mark your calendar now!
We are updating our member and visitor database. When Andy recently sent an email “Howdy” using email addresses in the database almost 40% of them were returned as undeliverable. Help us to update your records – please contact Peggy Thomas (email preferred to email@example.com) with your phone number and, if you’ve recently moved, your new mailing address.
What’s New on the Website.
Remember – you can sign up to have your picture taken on the web; you don’t need to use the computer in the Hospitality Room! Just CLICK HERE to get to the photo directory sign up page, follow the instructions and you are done! You’ll get an email confirmation and an email reminder a couple of days before the session. If you need to change your appointment or update your family information you can do that also. You can still sign up for August 8th or 9th or you can sign up for the later sessions during the week of September 22nd.

Our “Tech Guy,” Art Irish, helps us keep our computers and network protected against viruses and other ‘bad internet stuff.’ This week he’s come across an item that has recently surfaced that could cause problems with your home (or business computer). These tips are offered occasionally so that you can keep your computer protected and continue to get our email messages and safely use our web sites.
There’s a problem that can affect users of the social networking site Facebook. Someone has created a bogus link to an Adobe Flash Player site that actually downloads a virus onto your computer. Kris Keller says he thinks at least one of the Youth might have been affected already. If you think you need an update to your Adobe Flash player, go directly to the Adobe website (www.adobe.com) – don’t click on anything within Facebook.
C-mail Reminder. The weekly C-mail is normally published every Wednesday. Subscribe to the C-mail at our website. Go to: www.campbellumc.wordpress.com and click in the “Subscribe to the C-Mail” box. If you have an item you’d like to published in the C-mail or have suggestions on how we might improve it please send them to Misty Brown (firstname.lastname@example.org) and/or Art Irish (email@example.com).
Thus Endeth the Weekly C-mail Update.
