Hello Generation Xodus!
Our journey over the last several weeks has taken us out of Egypt, through the Red Sea and into the wilderness. We have read of the Israelites being oppressed, scared and complaining. We have learned what it means to be provided for and protected.
This past Sunday Andy said, “The wilderness is a good place”. I have to admit I don’t think I really wanted to hear that the voids in our lives are exactly where God does God’s best work. I would rather have been informed that God is working on our list of requests and will be filling those empty places quickly. However, Andy’s statement is so true. In those dry places, God exceeds my expectations. God is faithful.
This coming Sunday we will spend some time on the mountain learning what it means to be a community. Sometimes as Christians we are known for what we are not supposed to do and not as much about the people we are called to be in the world.
Join us Sunday as we talk about rule following.
Side note observation: It is not best to have your picture for the directory taken at 9:30 p.m. after a full day of work. Lesson received – one moment captured by the camera does not capture you anymore than one single moment of your life defines who you are. Take the joy, take the sorrow – it is about the journey.
