Worship for October 5th.
Last Sunday we took note of how the Israelites continued their practice of complaining to Moses. In the reading for the week the Lord told Moses he was going to speak with him in the presence of the people of Israel and he needed to make preparations before this was done. This week, the Lord lays down his rules to the people. Melissa Dodd will be telling us about “Rule Following” as we examine God’s rules.
You can find this week’s Pastor’s Note immediately following this C-mail.
What’s New around Campbell?
There’s still time to have your picture taken for the Photo Directory! Olan Mills will make one more visit to Campbell, on October 6th from 3:00 to 9:30 p.m. You can sign up on the kiosk computer in the Hospitality Room or on your own computer at the EZ Photo Signup page. (HINT: Don’t forget to enter the church phone number: 417-881-2018.)
As of this writing, we still are still waiting for a sign, but, as Andy said on Sunday, we do have a couple of ‘voids’ (i.e., holes) that are waiting to be filled and God often does his best work where there is an empty space.
Look on the CamBlog or in your weekly newsletter for information on the “Harvest Month Food Drive” for Crosslines. Our goal is to do better this year than we did last year; there are many families out there who need our help. You can drop your donations off in the grocery cart outside of the Hospitality Room. Monetary donations are accepted also. Checks should be made out to Campbell UMC with “Crosslines” in the memo section.
What’s New on the Website?
FINALLY! Several of the performances from the recent Grand Piano Concert have been placed on the CamBlog for your listening enjoyment. Because of copyright limitations we cannot place all the performances on the website nor can we create CDs for those who want to hear the concert again. We think you’ll enjoy this sample of songs by Gabriel and David Ting, Kory Wilcox, Ruth Thorne and Dr. Linda Ligate.
The Campbell Calendar has a complete listing of all activities.
