Worship for October 12th.
This week’s reading is Exodus, Chapter 31. The chapters we skipped (21-30) contain details of God’s instructions to Moses about clothing, the tabernacle, priests, the ark and a host of other details. You are encouraged to read them to see how much detail there was in God’s instructions to the Israelites. It took God some time to relate all these details to Moses and in the meantime the people became restless…but, that’s the basis of this week’s sermon. Come and hear “Wrath Averted” with Andy Bryan to find out how this chapter ends.
This week’s Pastor’s Note can be found immediately following this update on the CamBlog.
What’s New around Campbell?
This Sunday the Medical Team will be offering free blood pressure checks in the Mini-Kitchen between worship services. Come after worship as you should be relaxed!
Have you see the posters advertising the upcoming Fall Festival on Saturday, October 25th? Under many of these posters are tubs where we are collecting packages of individually wrapped candy.
You’ve probably noticed the tables with food on them – we are collecting non-perishable food items for Crosslines during the month of October. There are collection bins near each table for you to fill with your donation. Check out our “grocery list” and purchase just one or two items the next time you go shopping for the food basket. We’ll also take cash / check donations – be sure to mark them as “Crosslines” or “Food Drive.”
The Campbell Prayer Team is once again in the process of forming an up-to-date list of both active and retired military service men and women with connections to Campbell UMC. We will be using this list to make prayer cards for the upcoming November 9th / Veterans Day prayer vigil and for future events. However, we are also designing a permanent bulletin board to serve as a visual reminder to pray for our active military. What we need from you is the name, rank and branch, church connection, and, most importantly, picture of the service men and women that we as a family can be praying for. You can submit these items to the Prayer Team by bringing them to the church office during normal hours, or via email to Kory Wilcox at email@example.com. Please note that we can make copies of any photos if needed and return the original to you – just make sure to label them appropriately. We would like to have the list as up-to-date as possible by October 12th to give us ample time to prepare for the prayer vigil. As always, thank you, Campbell, for your gifts of prayer.
