It is Advent – what ARE you waiting for?
Of all the celebrations of the season, the children’s musical may be my very favorite. That is a very tricky claim to make, I realize! With so many wonderful events, it is really hard to narrow it down. However, let it be so for now – especially since this is the week that it happens!
The kids have been working hard on Wednesday nights for weeks and weeks, learning songs and memorizing lines, getting themselves ready. The adults who supervise them have been working hard, also, encouraging and teaching and guiding the kids in their endeavor. It is going to be really wonderful!
I want you all to know something – I am so inspired by the way our Wednesday night “Kids Connect” teachers have been so gracious in supporting the kids and helping out with the program preparations. They have all been so positive and uplifting, working in cooperation with the directors of the musical, even giving time from their own programs to help the kids practice. Those of you who have been to Wednesday Night Connect know exactly what I mean when I mention the love and joy that those teachers convey every single week. Thank you so much to each one of you amazing people!
The children of Campbell are such a vital part of this phenomenal congregation, and especially during this season. What a gift it is to be able to wait for Christmas through the eyes of the children. Their eagerness and anticipation are contagious!
These kids are our sisters and brothers, and it would be so wonderful for them to feel the love and support of their church family with a really big turnout this Sunday afternoon. It’s at 3:00 in the sanctuary – I’ll see you there!
