Fall Festival is THIS Saturday from 5-7 p.m. behind the church, weather permitting.

It will NOT be canceled, just moved inside if it rains.

Volunteers are NEEDED to help run games. We do not have enough people to help with games, yet. Please call or email Jill     jupp@campbellumc.org    or 881-2018

All are welcome to park in a” trunk or treat” spot along the building and pass out candy in the annual Trunk or Treat event. If you decorate your trunk, you will  be in the running for a prize.

Also, bring canned food to donate to Crosslines. The family that brings the most, leads the Trunk or Treat line!

Invite your family and friends! See you Saturday!

Ambassadors for Children request

Our congregation has received another request from Ambassadors for Children to help a foster family with pest control.   They have a roach problem and need an exterminator to eliminate this so they can provide a clean home for their newly arrived foster children.   If you would be able to help with this request, you can make out a check to CUMC with Ambassadors for Children in the notation section.   You can leave this at the church office or put it in the offering plate this Sunday.   Total cost for the extermination is $95.00.

As always, thank you so much for your generosity in contributing to this mission!

If you have any questions, please give me a call!

SUNDAY IN THE BUILDING! (August 6th, 2017)

Sunday At the Park” (scheduled for tomorrow 8/6/17) is going to be “Inside the Building” instead.

I know! Super bummer, right? But with the threat of not just “rain” but actually “thunderstorms,” it seems best to move it inside. BUT … since we are Campbell, we are going to make the best of it. As a congregation that values grace and creativity, we’ll still get to spend the morning hanging out together, playing and laughing and talking, worshiping together, then sharing a meal together after worship.

Everything will be at the same times: Fellowship starting at 9:00 – Worship at 10:30 – Lunch following. We’ll just be doing things a little bit differently.

Games will be set up in the entryway, hallway, fellowship hall, and atrium. The worship service will be in the sanctuary. Lunch will be in the gym.

Some things will be the same…

  • Please wear “picnic” clothes!!!
  • Please bring a store-bought side to share!!!
  • And even feel free to bring a lawn chair to sit on if you want to, just to be festive.

And most importantly, please invite someone to come with you to church. That’s what it’s really all about, anyway. Our ministry vision is all about “Expanding Connections” by making new friends and deepening relationships with one another. And we can do that anywhere!

I’ll admit that I am really disappointed in this “rain out,” but at the same time I’m so grateful for the rain! Our grass and trees and gardens really need it. And I am so grateful to be a pastor for one of the most gracious and loving congregations on the planet. I’ll see y’all in church!

Shalom, Andy B.

Christmas in July

Each year during the month of July, we collect presents for children from birth through teenagers that are then given to Crosslines for  distribution to families in need in December. Look for the Christmas Tree in the Fellowship Hall. There are two tools we provide to help you with choosing a gift – 1) you can pick an ornament from the tree, which will have a suggestion of a gift listed on it or 2) there will be a stand near the tree with an entire list of suggestions for all the different age groups.  Then just pick up a present and place it under the tree. The present should not be wrapped and if possible, please tape the receipt to the gift, as this helps the volunteers sort the gifts for the distribution. While it’s the most fun to shop for the younger children, don’t forget about the teenagers! Also, monetary donations are always welcome!  Just put Crosslines Toy Store on the memo line. Thank you in advance for your generosity to help families be able to provide a Christmas to their children.  This Sunday, July 30th is the last week to bring your donations for Crosslines.
