SERVE – Saturday, October 1st

We still need your help on Saturday, October 1st, 2016!

The forecast says it will be a beautiful autumn day. Why not spend a few hours being the hands and feet of Jesus?

  • Are you willing to help a sister Methodist congregation! Damascus Road UMC is a new church start at Sunshine and West Bypass (formerly Christ UMC) and they need your help to paint inside and do some yard work outside. Wear work clothes!
  • There are five more spots for picking up the highway. Meet at the church building at 9 am and ride together in a church van. Wear long pants and bring gloves to wear!
  • There is lots of help needed for Freeway Ministries still. Could you come to the church building at 1 pm to help cut fruits and vegetables so we can serve fresh salads? We need you!  Could you be at Freeway Ministries (739 W. Talmage St.) to help serve the meal and worship with people who are struggling with drug addiction and homelessness?
  • If you are busy the whole day, there is good news! There is lots of need for food donations still! We still need donations of:
    • 50 packages of hamburger buns
    • 15 bags of potato chips
    • 15 lbs of strawberries
    • 10 bags of oranges/clementines
    • 12 bags of grapes
    • 15 bunches of bananas
    • 10 lbs of apples
    • 10 bags of pre-cut lettuce/salad mix
    • 10 lbs of tomatoes
    • 10 lbs of broccoli/cauliflower

Adopt-A Caseworker request

Dear people of Campbell, we have been asked to help with another request through our adopt-a-caseworker program.   They are needing gift cards to a Gordmans and Payless shoe store for 2 teens who are needing clothing for the upcoming change of season.   These kids do not qualify for the kids closet program , so they are depending on us to help with their clothing needs.

If you can help, please let me, Becky Solari know as soon as possible as they would like to fill this request by weeks end.   Gift cards or cash donation would be great!

Thank you so much!

Becky Solari
